Haven't post for a while, I didn't get enough time slot for trade, so not much to post about. But in my spare time, when market is closed, I studied about the difference between stock futures and forex, here are some findings.
1: An old saying, a chart is a chart, it's the same on any market. This is true.
2: The markets ARE different, from time frame to trade, the size to trade, the width of the stop. They are all different. So on winning strategy can work on another market and it CAN lose badly too.
3: SPY is just the same as ES, at least I couldn't tell any difference from the chart.
More on futures:
ES is mini sized S&P. Which is $50 per point per contract, meaning it's $12.5 per tick (pip in fx). And it's the same as you trade 500 shares of SPY. So if you want smaller risk, trade smaller size with SPY, if you want bigger return and bigger leverage, go with ES!
After hour for ES does move, but u need to see the bid/ask to at least 200+ level. Otherwise it's just a waste of time.
ES close at 4:15 EST PM, to avoid over night margin, close you position before that.
More on FX: USD/JPY pair.
IB gives 1 to 50 leverage, you pay 1000$, you can buy 50K USD/JPY and then USD goes up 5 pip, u sell, u will get 25$ profit. Then IB takes 5$ as commission.
So far IB is the best I found, the rest of broker charge NO FEEs, but they provide much wider spread. If you are trading 100K slot, one pip is already $10.
Don't get fooled by FX AD saying, this is the biggest market in the world, 2T$ a day.... Everyone is trading on 1/50 margin, so it's really just 40B$ a day, smaller than US stock market.

Mid March review and couple changes.
First of all, I'm -0.6R, that didn't bother me, even now I'm trading double the size, I just need to summarize my trading in the past weeks.
1: There is one more high possibility setup I found, it's heavy volume on 15 minutes chart and far from EMA5, but 5 minutes chart looks good. Example is ADSK CIEN
2: No trading for the ones that are within ORH/ORL, example MHS.
3: Be careful on the setup at ORH/ORL with low volume, not the low volume on the entry bar, but low volume overall. Example: T.
As my schedule changed, the time available for trading is limited, I was thinking of trading futures in after hour, but just found out that you cannot use stop order in AH. That can put myself in much higher risk if I'm wrong in the direction. Also, future has much bigger size, compare to just trade SPY. ES future is almost as you buy 500 shares of SPY for 1 contract of ES. So if you want to limit your risk to 100 or 200$ per trade, and when there are 3 or 4 points on the entry bar, you don't have a chance to buy 0.5 contract or something like that. I will be looking for setup to trade SPY in the next couple days.
1: in 3 minutes chart, as my trading time is really limited, I need the setup works in a short time frame, which means it will move faster.
SPY

It's interesting today, normally after such a big down day for me, my initial reaction is, I want to hide it, and I don't want to post it, but today I have no problem with it.
I took 4 trade:
long:
bid 15 minutes, break of 6 bar, stopped out 2 bars later. -1R
pcar 15 minutes, break of 6 bar, stopped out 2 bars later. -1R
I like these 2 setup actually, if it happens again, I will take them again.
long:
FNM 15 minutes, break of 6 bar, exit with -0.36R don't like this setup, trade smaller size and exit early.
Short:
MCO 15 minutes, break of 7th bar, stopped out next bar. don't like this setup, cause it's above ORL, should trade smaller size.
Sorry, no access to the chart now.
And another mistake was, I wanted to trade MCD McDonald, not MCO, and MCD's chart looks much better in my style, should be able to get at least 1.5R from it. anyway.......

I decided to spend sometime post my trades here, no matter loss or win, it's kind of hard to keep the blog up-to-date with all the daily activities, but I realize once I stop blogging or get lazy on updating it, my trade quality goes down too. It's not that after I update my trade will be better, but at least that's the good part I can try.
I didn't trade cof.

tax tips.
I have done my tax, for those of you who were using IB and turbo tax. Here is a little tip.
Since Turbo tax cannot download directly from IB, you will need to download your trading record from IB in XLS format (Excel) and then spend your days and nights type them in turbo tax...... kidding.. you will need to pay $5 to get a small tool from http://www.investotek.com and covert your excel to txf file, then import the txf file to turbo tax.
Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with investotek.com, I just feel that $5 is worth it.
Another tip. This year's turbo tax changed their function, if you select save your tax in pdf format, it's actually saving all the forms in pdf format, while last year, they save the "printed version" in pdf formation. So if you try to print the pdf this year ( like me ), you end up wasted hundreds of papers.
I download a free utility Primopdf, it's like a similator of printer driver. So that when you select print from turbo tax, you can actually print into a pdf file.
Happy trading.

2008-03-03 CCU/MET -0.5R (+1.4R from reset)
What happened was, I had an OK setup, not as perfect as I wanted, so I entered, with about 1R target, then it breakout, and I'm so happy, so change my target to 5R, which is the furthest FIB number... and it touched 1R and came back... I closed my position at BE... then revenge trade another one and got 0.5R lost..
but I'm glad that i realize my mistake early and get out with only 0.5R lost.

2008-02-27 PRU/MAR/NIHD (TOTAL +10.4 R for 2008) --- Reset
What a morning, I have something else to do today, so have to close my position early on.
PRU: I entered on 5 minutes chart, break of 10:35 bar, it run up quickly and my first target is 76.9 and second target is 77.22. Guess what, the target was too low, it got hit within 10 minutes and run over it for another 80cents.....I should modify my charting program to give 100 fib extension.
MAR: loser, enter on the break of 3rd bar, stopped out the same bar. 15 minutes chart.
NIHD: BE. Actually loser too, my entry was at break of 10:20 bar on 5 minutes chart, and it didn't drop so I exit with little loss.

2008-02-19 VIP/AKS + 3.5R
It works pretty well for me today. Here is the chart:
AKS has a hammer like on the entry bar, and it has support of both ORH and EMA5. Then next bar makes me think of exit, But it didn't even test ORH. My target was 38.2% Fib number.
VIP was not as good as AKS and it's on 10 minutes chart.
The script also picked up GG, could be a winner but I didn't trade it.

Opentick update.
Here is the status of opentick evaluation:
1: Open an account, it can be totally free according to the site, but I didn't try that.
2: The way they handle symbols is not normal ( at least not normal to me ), that you need to know which exchange the symbol is trading on, they have a web page that you can search for the exchange, it's just a little bit trouble for scripting it.
3: Real time data suck, really bad, slow and not reliable. I spend about 3 whole days on it and come up this conclusion, so don't even try it.
4: Historical data is FREE, this is the only site that I found historical intraday data free. here is the way you can download it:
HistCsv MSFT.csv /sep @ feed1.opentick.com 10010 login password /e Q /s MSFT 05/1/2006 16:00 05/1/2007 17:00 /o minutely 1
The above command will download the intraday 1 minute data from 2006/05/01 to 2007/05/01, for MSFT and save it in MSFT.csv.
I use 5 minutes data so I use "minutely 5", as 1 minute data is huge (5 times bigger) and storage is not an issue but the CPU power to handle that much of data could be issue.
5: here is a sample script that you can use to download them through a bat file.
g.bat:
histcsv.exe %2.CSV feed1.opentick.com 10010 loginname password /e %1 /s %2 01/01/2007 09:00 01/01/2008 16:00 /tm /o minutely 5
download.bat:
call g N ADS

call g N AF
call g N AFL
call g N AGN
call g N AIG
call g N APD
call g N APH
call g N ARO
call g N ARW
call g N ATI
call g N AU
etc.....
I have a list of stocks that I am interested, about 700 of them, and I pick all the 4 letters one, they are all Nasdaq stock (I could be wrong here), then use "call g Q AAPL", the rest of them are all NYSE stock, use "call g N AIG".
6: Then I use AB (Amibroker) to import the data and form the database.

It happened again, all 3 stock stopped out and I was trading with bigger R today, so over all 4R loss.
Last time was a least 6 trade.
Anyway, this is life and this is trading...
I won't have chart as I messed up. APC is the only one that I should trade.

2008-02-04 CROX/VZ/CAH/PTEN/NE/MER -0.8R
Market is still on, I have just closed all my positions, the lose of 0.8R are mainly slippage and commissions, as I traded really really small R today, with a new strategy (for testing). I lost in VZ for 1R , and BE on CROX, made money on CAH and PTEN.
NE and MER were the candidate by the script also, and I missed them.
Only VZ is short, all the others are long. and all on 15 minutes chart.
I will have chart tonight, now tired of looking at screen.
BTW: VZ is not from the script.

Monthly review. Jan 2008 + 6.1R
This wasn't where I wanted, I want 10 R as a monthly goal. I'm now complete drop futures trading, thanks StockHunter/Rudy/LP for the comments.
I was doing well the first 2 weeks and not very well the second half of the month.
I will still be using the same stop method. As for the target, it will be the next Fib level, or 2R.
I'm doing well on the scanner later part of the month, the changes included: get a fixed number of stocks to trade, Change QT to use TD as real time datafeed (from etrade, which has too many spike in price). And limit number of stocks under 180, so that scanner can run 1 round in less than 90 seconds. Run the scanner on 13/28/43/58 minute of the hour so that I can get a feeling of what's going to happen and be prepared, also need to wait for the bar to complete as I need to stick to the entry rule. The scanner now can give me couple good candidates and I wasn't able to trade them because of futures trading distraction.
The plan for Feb 2008:
1: no futures trading!
2: use the stop method.
3: use the entry method.
The goal for Feb 2008 will be to reach 10R as quick as possible and then increase the R size within my comfortable level.

Another thought about my exit/stop.
This topic is mainly about the stops.
I can use a trailing stop that WILL posted on Trading Axiom, or use a different trailing stop that Maoxian is using for his swing trade.
Here it is:
Keep the stop until there is a higher low ( long trade ), meaning the low should be higher than current stop and lower than the bar next to it (on left and right).

2008-01-28 GM/CSX/RF -0.2R
I long all 3 of them and I got BE on CSX.. And you read it right, I manage to lose 0.2R because of the slippage. What happen is in CSX, I got entry at 47.83 and 47.93, after it failed to break 48, I exit at BE, which is not bad choice.
For GM, I got in at 27.05, and I manage to turn into a 1R loss. I moved my stop to 26.87 and was stopped out before it take off without me.
For RF, I enter at 24.17 and exit at 24.37 just to cover my GM loss.. Still cannot separate my trade!!!
So here is the plan, I won't be able to trade tomorrow and I will spend some time to review the way I move my stop.
One good part about today's trading is, I'm able to stay with my plan to get the entry I like, well there are 3 of them so I took all of them, which is easier, compare to there are 0 of them and I need to hold on my trade.

futures trading.
As it's getting hotter and hotter on OONR7's blog, and seems he/she is a good track of it, I will start post some thoughts/topics here and once I have a complete one, we can share it on Trading Axiom.
The reasons I love futures: mainly e-minis
1: They are cheaper than regular, such as S&P standard is 250$ a point but ES is only 50$ (while IB is happy cause u will trade more ES and they get commission by ur size).
2: No MM or specialist in the middle, everything goes to a server (or server pool) for filling and come out to you directly. So no one see your order (thereotically).
3: fixed spread.
4: easy to get filled and liquid enough.
5: single chart to focus on.
6: professionals trading it, no one suppose do stupid things. Also tougher to trade, as you are competing with all the pros.
Currently I'm using IB's chart on ES, holly slow and buggy. I have plan to research on opentick.

2008-01-25 BTU/LOW/FFIV -1.6R
I actually finished in green, I broke all the rules, trading with no plan, as it's a gap fading market, I keep on looking for gap up breakout (BTU) and choppy setup (LOW) then revenge trading in FFIV and ES future. I will market my stock trading as loss of 1.6R and even my futures trading get it back, but that's not planned.
And I also spend weekend to reset myself, will follow the plan on Monday (hopefully).

etrade data feed.
I hate it when I'm not trading base on the right data but today I realize that etrade data feed is not matching with TD's backfill..For example:
This is ebay's chart on 15 minutes, The top one is from etrade realtime streaming and the bottom is I clear the data and backfill from TD. I believe TD is right. But I got lots of spike like this in etrade the past 2 days, I think that's also due to the lardge activities in the market but I will give etrade one more day to try, then I will switch to TD even though it's only 75 symbols, but I want the right 75symbols!

2008-01-22 ITU -0.7R
loser, it was not with any of my patten and not from my screener, I just think the bounce wasn't going to last so I find a weaker stock to short. And it's proven that I was wrong.
OK, more details about the trade today, as I won't have a chart for it. I was playing with futures last night, as unplanned, I traded it, and got 2R gain (unplanned also). And I was so exited on this down trending market and also I think of the 0.75 cut will boost the market little bit, as we only cut 0.5 after 911. So I wait until the first 30 minutes rally over and find a *weak* stock ITU that was trading under ORL and short it. It was exactly short at the bottom. And I keep my stop and debating weather should I take a 0.7 R lost or hold on with 1R lost, my stop is already triggerd, I was in the trade about 3 minutes.
Also, it was raining here and my wireless router doesn't run well in rainy day, so I have to use RJ45, and trade from my couch, cause the cable is not long enough to reach the desk.
Well anyway, I realize I'm easy on myself after making small mistakes, such as
1: wrong order type , buy vs. buy stop.
2: wrong size, 5000 vs. 500
3: force trade (this is not really small mistake)
Well all these little loss added up!!!

weekend thoughts..
After review the trade I had for the past weeks, I realize that I shouldn't be focusing on single / two bars patten too much, shift to price action/trend line analysis can make my trade much better. My scanner was purely based on single/2 bars patten, these are not bad thing. But I got lots of false signals while the price is at a choppy area which is not critical to the breakout play.
My goal is to find good entry bar in an existing trend or breakout. Honestly, I don't know how to code it yet.
Then I listed the trades I like the most from library and realize that they are ALL happen in the ORH/L area, note, my ORH/L including previous day's H/L too, whichever is bigger/smaller. For example, previous H/L 25/23, ORH/L 26/24, then I use 26/23 in my code.
So I didn't code the trendline, but I narrow my scanner to ORHL area, the result comes out better than the existing scanner.
Also I changed my exiting rule in the backtest to use trailing stop, not the typical trailing stop by a fixed percentage or amount, but trailing by the previous bar's low. I compared couple different stop methods:
1: trailing stop by previous bar.
2: Fixed 1R vs. 4 R ( L vs. P )
3: Scale out 50% at 1R and let the rest run.
It turns out #1 has the best PF. If you don't know what's PF, Move the Markets has a very good topic.
Another thing I did was change my position size in backtest, I was using a fixed amount in my back test, but now it's base on a fixed R size. At the end of this post is the code in case you are interesting in IB. (Sorry, I couldn't get the code on this page, it's always got messed up by html editor. Contact me in comment if you want to see the code. )
The following are some examples from my scanner:
Here is an OK play,

and here is an losing setup,

here is a winning setup.

Also, I realize the good trade came out from this current scanner are not much based on Gaps. Yes, they are still Gaps, meaning the Open is still Higher/lower than previous close, but not big enough to be picked up by my previous script. So I will change my watchlist to add some stocks that are better for this type of play, they are now:
1: price between 20-80
2: average vol greater than 3m.
3: ATR / Close is greater than 3.5%.
A totally different topic:
If you want to trade for a living, it doesn't look as easy as others did. Here are some facts:
1: Let's say you currently making 100K a year before tax, you will need to make about 138K (fib number) to cover all the expenses if you are self employed, such as medical insurance and 401k etc.
2: There are about 46 weeks you need to work every year (excluding holidays/vacations etc), so you will need to make 3K a week.
3: It depends on your trading strategy/style, how many trade you will take on an average daily. Let's say you take 2 high quality trade (trade that you entered on your edge, we don't even count the random trade, feel good trade, revenge trade, you shouldn't trade these at all), so it's 10 trades per week.
4: Let's say you have a 50/50 winning ratio, and you win 2R or loss 1R on any given trade (PF = 2, a pretty good system), so you R will need to be $600
5: If you are risking 1% as your R size, you will need 60K capital to start with.

2008-01-18 GM/BJS/AMGN -2.1R
Not a very good day for me, I need not to trade on OE days, it's just choppy. First I go long GE, and it's choppy after the mini breakout, so I exit with about -0.4R, which was OK.
Then I go short BJS, if I could stay with my stop, I would be in + 3R at least but I exit with about -0.9R, which wasn't bad either, because the bar after entry look so bullish.
AMGN wasn't a good entry, and it's purely revenge trade, which cost me another -0.8R. See, these little Rs add up..
I really need to sit down and see what my exit plan is, I had one for this year, but I was not able to follow it.
There is a long weekend coming up, I will need to take time to review my trade for the past 3 weeks and work out a better exit plan.
All in all, I was up 1.4R this week, it's not want I wanted, (I want 5R, at least 2R)... but well, the key thing is keep me interested and keep my account tradable and moving forward.

Learning and Learning and Learning.
Here are some good topics that I would like to mark, keep it here for record.
What is a stop loss?
How to be consistent?
What is a stop loss?

2008-01-16 GM/CTSH + 1.1R
Here is what happen in GM.
CTSH is a scalp, it looks good on 15 min and I entered on the break of 5th bar, yes, 5th, not 4th..
the 4th bar closed 1 cent above ORL, that make me wait.
while the 6th/7th bar develop, I found that CTSH is dropping slower than QQQQ, and S1 pivot is at 25.9 area, so I exit with BE.

2008-01-15 DNA -0.2R
I wasn't doing bad today, lost of false signals and I was able to ignore them (hardly) and get back on track with the good picks. But the problem is, there is no good pick from my watchlist. And I end up short DNA and exit with -0.2R. I knew it was an up trend intrady for the stock and just thinking everything else is dropping and why not this one? Also it's a Gap down stock..
But I'm very careful after the entry, it didn't break out then I exit. The 0.2R is mainly slippage.
Nice to see OONR7 and Jerry picked up ZRAN, it was below 20$ so I didn't have it on my list.
Short DNA this morning...around 69.07 exit at about 69.1, it's like I couldn't find the pace of QQQQ/DIA this morning... They are always 1 or 2 minutes ahead of me..Whenever I had a pick and want to short it, I'm wating for the bar to complete, such as on 5 minute/3minutes chart, and it's dropped already by the time it completed. I had very bad experience that jump in the trade before the bar complete, and was stopped out right next bar (ACI trade), I don't want to make the same mistake... and then I found DNA, I know it's in a up trend intraday, so trade with very small size and also scalper type of entry. It turns out good result for me... even I loss, I feel like more diciplaned.

script for place order from AB.
I use Amibroker for chart (and QT sometimes) and use IB to trade, wrote a small script to place trade from AB to IB, it's pretty handy and bug free.. (LOL, just after my 1 day-1trade testing). Here it is.

short on 10 minutes chart, break of 7th bar's low and exit on 15 minutes ORL, it's a such bullish day, I just need to keep my profit while shorting stock.
SAP: I was thinking of chasing it at around 50.68, and didn't do it just watch it spike pass 51.5... Because I don't know where to put my stop... It's good now I pass on these type of trade. I think it's a good sign for me.

2008 Jan.... Biweekly review.
Surprisingly I'm up. Here are the numbers:
From 12/31/2007 to 1/11/2008
Total Trade 23
Total Profit (exclude fee): 10R
Fee: 2R
Profit 8R
Winner: 12
Loser: 11
Biggest Win CROX 3R
Biggest Loss GFI 1.3R
5 Longs 2w:3L and -1.7R
16 short 10w:8L and 11.7R
And I looked at each trade briefly, I'm not having big losers, most of them are -0.6/0.7R, and winners are interesting, either 1.3+ or around 0.2/0.3R
The past 2 weeks, I was really trading without exit strategy, I exit when I feel like it. And the last couple days (especially the last day 1/11/2008) I wasn't even follow my entry policy.

2008-01-08 FE/BDX $0R
I didn't do well on BDX, stop set too tie, but it didn't get triggered by IB.. WTF #$%^&. So I manually exit, of course it went my way after that.
I scalp FE later on, with BE trade for the day.
I missed couple entry, such as FFIV, UAUA (this one went well.. I put my order on the break of 10:20 bar (5 min), didn't get filled. HNT buy on the break of 10:45 (15min)
Anyway, hope everyone else have a good trading day.

see if it can hit 34.08, which is the 161.8% of the fib extension from yesterday's high to today's ORL, on 5 minutes chart
UPDATE: it hit 34.05 and now bounce a little bit at 34.4

The market sell off today, I was up late again (need to get back to my normal schedule after the long holiday) and gapper list was late.
I'm able to get +1.6 R today, mainly shorting. and there are lots of good setups out there. Here is the trade.

I didn't trade ABX, but the chart looks great, I put both 15 minutes and 5 minutes here.

Exit plan.
I don't really have an exit plan, that makes my trades hard to track, whenever I feel I'm ready to exit, I close my position. Now I need to write a plan and follow it and then tune it.
Here is the version 1.
1: stop at 1R
2: target at 2R or next Fib number, which every comes first.
Let's stick with this for 1 week and see how it goes.
An interesting topic about pacing.

Annual review 2007
What a year. Overall up 3.6%, I didn't even match my CD account. Oh well, what can you expect from a first year trading.
Good part:
1: I learned a lot.
2: I coded a lot.
3: I have lots of losing trade, that makes me think hard.
4: I have a gap list every morning to start with.
Bad part:
1: I'm not disciplined, and I know now if I don't keep myself disciplined, it's not possible to track my trading record and there is no way that I can improve base on the review of my trade. Win or lose, I need to be consistent.
2: I cut my loser too slow (until it hit my 1R stop) and my winner too quick. That's also due to I don't have a clear exit plan. Entry is easy, exit is difficult.
I actually only traded June/July/Aug/Nov/Dec, and If I compare my own account with QQQQ, I beat that index in the months that I'm trading. My goal next year is still to beat QQQQ/SPY, whichever is better.
My Goals:
1: beat QQQQ/SPY in the time of my trading.
2: Maintain 50% winning ratio.
3: Increase my profit of winning trade to average 2R.
My plans:
1: paper trade in the month of Jan or reach 10R profit. Whichever comes first.
2: Keep on doing what I have done the three 30 minutes every night. Including
30 minutes of review today's trade.
30 minutes of replay previews chart, thanks AB.
30 minutes of reading web page.
3: work on an exit plan.

IB OCA orders.
Not sure how many of you are using IB, I'm using it.. I know many people are not happy with their support, I'm one of them, but they really have cheap commission and sophisticated features. Here is an example of OCA orders. One-cancel-all.
After you enter a position, let's say you short 500 share of C at 29.88$, your stop is 30.02 and target is 29.30$. You can combine these 2 orders in one group, if one of them get hit, the other one will be canceled.
I also use bracket order, which is a short-stop @ 29.88 and attached with 2 buy orders for target and stop. When the short-stop is hit, the other 2 orders will be submitted.

2007-12-20 C/ADM/MEE
I'm BE today, get in good entry for C and ADM, MEE stopped out takes all the gain away.
I tend to get out of my winner too soon and let the loser run.
This is something I need to work on next, after I'm getting my entry right.
I won't be trading tomorrow and will be on vacation next week, back after new year 1/2/2008.
Hope everyone has a great holiday and see you guys next year!

2007-12-19 CVC/TAM/PRGO/LEAP
Both choppy TAM exit at BE and CVC exit at almost -1R. Will need to work on script tonight to find more useful signals.
I thought of hiding my bad trade, as they really suck. But after review, I found it's not the market, it's really me suck. There are PRGO and LEAP perfect setup, on the short side there are couple others too. PRGOR and LEAP are going to library. And also, they are not affected by the market trend at all... We had a V type of market today.

2007-12-18 ACN/BBT
the market gap up and then sell off, DIA try to fight back but finally drag down by Qs. I short BBT when it's breaking 52 weeks low at 32.19, stop at 32.32, covered half at 32.1, let the rest half run.
ACN is just a scalp on 10 minutes chart, nothing interesting.
BTW: my target for BBT is 31.66. it's now trading at 31.90.

2007-12-17 MT/ANN/STO
What can I say, I had my best setup "MT" and I didn't pull the trigger and then I force the trade on ANN and STO.
STO turns out to be BE, and I didn't set my target for ANN, it actually got hit while I'm away from my computer, I didn't expect it to reach that fast. I held on to it and take a -1R$ hit.
Oh well, after a week of reading chart and review trades, at least I'm able to get some good picks. Now let's work on trading them.
Trade the following as priority:
1: trader-x like setup, hammer bar at above/below ORH/L.
2: 2 hammer like reversal/continuation
3: wedge breakout.
Don't trade 1 bar reversal or continuation, they are just too risky.
gaplist 2007-12-17
Jerry: MT is your type of trade, I missed it, did you get it?

After review, Trade/setup I like.
As you know I went through a tough losing streak, and I'm not sure it's over or now, at least I have done my part of the home work. Review all the trades I have in Nov and Dec. Here are the trades I liked:

Here are the trade of breakout all time high ( or 52 week high )I liked
BTU
ANR
Good setup in Futures:
1: bounce of EMA200
2: push up/down by EMA20
3: Strong support (600+ contract in AH).

I will be working on a 52 week high/low list of stocks from today, something like ugly chart is doing, his scanner is a much completed one, due to QT can only track 150 symbols, and realistically only 100 for me. I will limit this High/Low list to around 20. And monitor it for a week see if there is any good setup.

2007-12-14 LONG BTU
Here is the one I would like to trade.
OK, I was watching NOV, and break of the 2nd bar, didn't get in on time, miss the train.
BTU I got it, on the break of 60.00$.. but I don't like the breakout bar's shape, too long the up tail, so I exit... Plus there are 60.29$ resist back in 2006..... woo, that long ago?

2007-12-12 TWTC/MTW
MTW: break of 6th bar, I didn't get an entry there, I was like 2 minutes late, buy the moment I say the scanner's result, the price is already 47.20 to 47.30, I waited a while and get some at 47.20, and later on exit at the same level because I feel I should chase it and I have a meeting coming up in 15 minutes, I wouldn't have time to manage my trade.
Maybe I should run my scanner every 15 minutes at 58/13/28/43 minute of the hour. I use to do that, but I realize later one, the bar didn't close as the moment scanner runs, then the signal becomes false. I will have to run it again at 01/16/31/46, so I dropped first scan. Now looks like I will need to run it twice every 15 minutes, as I'm skipping lots of the false signals, I will have more time to handle the real signals... Trading is all about hard work, isn't it?
Another though on MTW, as the first wasn't very strong, plus the market is slipping today, it couldn't break ORH for the second move.. but previous day's high hold as support pretty well.
TWTC was on my watchlist and scanner didn't give any signals at all, but I found it looks well on 10 minutes chart, and I entered short at 21.68 and covered later on at the same level. 21.66 was seems to be a support at that time (from the tape) and I was also feeling the intraday pivot 21.58 would be a support, it actually did, on 12:15 bar.
It's a good day for me as I'm able to hold my fire until the best setup. It's a good sign after a losing streak.

2007-12-07 HXL/SON/SNDA/IBN/CAKE/NSM
-4R$.
Nothing worked, 6 trades, 6 losers. Only trade may worked out is NSM break of 6th bar. But I chicken out on that one, which I shouldn't.. And I hold my position until stopped out on all the other trades, which I should be chickened out.
Seems I'm only picking up losers today, that's interesting, the scanner give out winners too, I will need to wait until the end of today to see how many winners / loser it gives out and why I'm only picking the lowers.
I will do the following as of next week.
